Wellness Program

Healthucation is in the process of developing, implement and evaluate a program for Learners of Grades 8-12 which would promote knowledge and skills to engage our youth of a Greater Community Involvement, Effective Collaboration, becoming an Influencer of Change with an Attitude of Shift and Developing a Greater Self-worth, while informing these school-going learners on critical and relevant social and health issues of our times creating engagement to deliver effective transition from further educational to Vocational engagement in today’s ever changing diverse world.

We Can Assist With

Health and Socio issues in a fast-moving world, and the constant changing environment that a Learner is faced with from an uncertain future path to issues of peer pressure, alcohol, drugs, HIV and TB and understanding sexuality with the consequences of sexual activity.

The program uses the methodological principles proven internationally and based on behavior change models to provide health and self-development proficiencies to these growing members of society with the aim of producing Learner’s more equipped to deal with making the Right personal, career and health choices through understanding, information and empowerment to encompass their future wellbeing.

Social issues of our time created by disparage of the apartheid system included the Bantu Education Act which was one of the most offensively racial laws, which brought African education under the control of the government and entrenched apartheid in the schooling system: a system that was set to create control over the majority of the population; a law that manipulated and removed the drive of one’s ambition and ability to grow and prosper as a human being for the benefit of the minority. Minister of “Native Affairs” Dr Hendrick F. Verwoerd expressed the apartheid government new education policy to the South African Parliament:

“There is no space for him (the “Native”) in the European Community above certain forms of labor. For this reason, it is no avail for him to receive training which has its aim in the absorption to a school system which drew him away from his community and misled him by showing him greener pastures of European Society where he is not allowed to graze.”

The specific aims of the program are to address the problems and to bring about change that’s has been created by the past actions of the previous government in education and society. Bringing these challenges to the forefront as the primary barriers that spawned the problematic Health and Socio behavior in these young adults that has resulted in a disengaged future generational outlook and the higher risk acquisition of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies.
